Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by our driver guide, briefed and later transferred to your Nairobi hotel. Depending on the time of arrival you may choose to add an optional excursion. Dinner will be served at Carnivore restaurant with return transfers from the hotel.
Optional activities to do at an extra cost upon request:
You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning, briefed and afterwards, your magical Kenya safari experience will take off. Together with our driver guide, depart and drive to the northern part of Kenya, the Samburu National Reserve. You'll be arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. The afternoon is spent at leisure viewing the wildlife across these beautiful dotted plains of Samburu Game Reserve. You'll be in search of a game that includes big cats, topis, hartebeest, oribis, Grant’s and Thomson's gazelles, buffalo, waterbucks, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, and many other species of birds that call this park home. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp.
Enjoy your breakfast followed by a full day of unlimited wildlife viewing. Possible sightings include the Special Five of Samburu; the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy zebra, the Beisa oryx, the Somali ostrich, and gerenuk, all rare species that occur only in this part of the country, and look for its well-known larger game including elephants, lions and leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch before heading back to the camp to relax for the afternoon/evening. Your game drives will be along the Ewaso Nyiro River where most of the wild animals are found. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp.
Depart Samburu Game Reserve after an early breakfast. The drive will take you to the base of Mount Kenya, Sweetwater's conservancy, which works to conserve wildlife, provide a sanctuary for great apes, and generate income through wildlife tourism and complementary enterprises for re-investment in conservation and community development.
The lions are the most numerous of the big cats here, with six resident prides bringing the total lion population to 72. The Conservancy is also home to around 30 cheetahs and 20 elusive leopards. This conservancy is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and home to two of the world's last remaining northern white rhinos. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market.
The game viewing here is superb, as the wildlife moves freely within this untamed natural habitat. Dinner and overnight will be at the camp.
You will have an early morning breakfast, check out and depart the conservancy for a drive to Lake Nakuru National park. The park was created in 1961 and is often described as an ornithologist’s paradise. An outstanding place to watch, at times, over 1 million pink flamingos wading along the shores of the shallow, alkaline water lake. Hundreds of other water birds, including pelicans, marabou storks, seagulls, avocets, plovers, and stilts, can also be found at the lake itself. This park is home to black and white rhinos. You will arrive at a good time for lunch and later have an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Enjoy breakfast, check out, and depart for Masai Mara National Reserve with a game enroute drive. Arrive in time for check in followed by lunch and a short time to relax before embarking on an afternoon game drive. After enjoying your afternoon Kenyan tea and coffee, head out for an exciting game-viewing adventure. Search some of the area's wildlife hotspots determined by your driver guide as they've learned and understand the game's daily routines through tracking. During the game drive you will be able to see a wide range of wildlife including zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and African wild dogs among others. Later return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Enjoy your breakfast and head to the reserve for a full-day game drive with your packed lunch, on this day you will explore the endless plains of the reserve on a full-day game drive. The reserve is well known for its black-manned lions, as well as its abundant resident wildlife. It’s one of the few places where it's possible to see the Big Five during a morning game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame that they seek shelter from the hot sun under one's vehicle and several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. The Mara River is the gateway of the annual migration of wildebeest from Serengeti to Masai Mara. This great spectacle features the pounding of over 6 million hooves from the vast Serengeti plains to the champagne colored hills of Kenya’s Masai Mara where over 1 million wildebeest, 300,000 gazelle, and some 200,000 zebra relentlessly tracked by Africa’s greatest predators, migrate in a clockwise fashion over 1,800 miles each year. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagle, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks 4 of bustard (including the kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds. Dinner and Overnight will be at the camp.
After breakfast, you will depart for Naivasha with an en-route game drive from Masai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch and check-in. In the afternoon, you have an option to enjoy a boat ride at the lake and either visit the Crescent Island Sanctuary or Hell's Gate National Park (either that you will choose). Crescent Island Sanctuary hosts herbivores like the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and hippo. Hell's Gate National park hosts spectacular scenery including the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub-clad volcanoes, and belching plumes of geothermal steam, making it one of the most atmospheric parks in Africa. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
At the break of dawn, have a relaxed breakfast at the resort, check out and embark on your journey back to Nairobi by road.Â
Arrive Nairobi by early afternoon [typically by 3.00pm]. Drop off at the Nairobi hotel for overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel by 10am and depending on your flight timings, our driver guide will pick you from the hotel and transfer you to the airport for your flight to your next destination. End of tour.
