Cardamom House is a boutique coastal escape on Kuruwitu Beach, north of Mombasa, set atop ancient coral cliffs and fringed by tropical gardens. Overlooking the infinite blues of the Indian Ocean, this retreat is where Swahili architecture meets barefoot luxury in the wild, tranquil setting of the Kuruwitu Marine Conservancy, as the property is built and curated by its owners to feel like a warm home more than a standard hotel. Each from the local art pieces to coral-colored bougainvillea drapes, thick cooling walls, and open terraces reflects a deep respect for nature and place.

Nestled on Kuruwitu Beach, Vipingo, directly by the sea, yet far from the more crowded tourist hubs. Overlooks the first locally managed marine park in Kenya, the Kuruwitu Marine Conservancy, which protects coral reefs, fish life, and coastal ecosystems. The gardens and architecture preserve existing trees and landscape as the house is woven into nature rather than imposed upon it

Rooms & Villas: 10 suites spread across 4 villas (Manda Toto, Villa Lulu, Villa Shela, and the iconic Tower) including 2 penthouses. Each room is designed to feel private, with sea or garden views, and furnished with mosquito net canopy or king beds, air-conditioning & fans. Bathrooms & Amenities: En-suite bathrooms with showers or outdoor options, double basins, spacious terraces or barazzas, safe, writing desk. Wi-Fi throughout.

Dining & Gathering Spaces: No fixed mealtimes. Guests are encouraged to dine wherever they wish on private terraces, by the beach, under trees, in the garden, or in the main house. There is a show kitchen, wine cellar, fire pit, and rooftop terrace for sunset views.
